The Cardinals have acquired reliever Edward Mujica in trade with the Marlins. St. Louis is sending third baseman Zack Cox to Miami.

Mariners reliever Brandon League has been traded to the Dodgers for two prospects, both from upper Class A ball. Left-handed hitting outfielder Leon Landry was hitting .328 with 26 doubles, 15 triples, and eight home runs, according to a Seattle Times report late Monday night. The other prospect is pitcher Logan Bawcom, a closer with 20 saves and a 2.03 ERA.

The Braves added a left-hander to their rotation and a right-handed bat to their bench Monday night by acquiring Paul Maholm and Reed Johnson from the Cubs. Braves GM Frank Wren confirmed the team is sending right-handed pitchers Arodys Vizcaino, a top prospect, and Jaye Chapman to the Cubs, who also sent cash to the Braves.

The Rangers acquired catcher Geovany Soto and cash considerations from the Cubs on Monday for minor league pitcher Jake Brigham, a source confirmed Monday night. Soto is hitting .199 with six homers and 14 RBIs in 51 games this season.

The Pirates have acquired outfielder Travis Snider from the Blue Jays in exchange for right-handed pitcher Brad Lincoln. The 24-year-old Snider was Toronto's first round selection in the 2006 First Year Player Draft and made his ML debut with the Blue Jays in 2008. The left-handed hitter entered tonight's action with a.235 average, three homers and eight RBI in nine games with Toronto. In 61 games with Triple-A Las Vegas, Snider hit .335 with 17 doubles, 13 home runs and 57 RBI.

The White Sox have made a move to stay on top of the AL Central Division, acquiring left-hander Francisco Liriano from the Twins on Saturday night, according to an Associated Press report. The Twins will receive infielder Eduardo Escobar and lefty prospect Pedro Hernandez.

The Giants acquired infielder Marco Scutaro from the Rockies in a trade for minor league infielder Charlie Culberson on Friday night, according to an Associated Press report. Scutaro was hitting .271 with four home runs and 30 RBIs in 95 games for the Rockies.

The Diamondbacks traded infielder Ryan Roberts to the Rays late Tuesday night after designating him for assignment hours earlier. Arizona received Double-A infielder Tyler Bortnick from Tampa Bay.

The Marlins continued their sell-off early Wednesday when they traded third baseman Hanley Ramirez and left-handed reliever Randy Choate to the Dodgers for right-hander Nate Eovaldi and minor league pitcher Scott McGough. The trade was announced after the Dodgers' game in St. Louis against the Cardinals on Tuesday night, and hours after the Marlins played the Braves in Miami. The Pirates are getting serious about their playoff push, acquiring lefty Wandy Rodriguez in a trade Tuesday night with the Astros, according to an ESPN.com report. The Pirates will get up to $17.7M in the deal to offset what could amount to over $30M in salary for Rodriguez. They are sending Triple-A All-Star Rudy Owens and Colton Cain, both left-handers, and outfielder Robbie Grossman to Houston.
